About
I am working as a data scientist at Artifact.
I am currently working as a Data Scientist Consultant at Artifact in Zürich, where I design and implement AI-driven solutions.
I am working a diverse projects for a large variety of clients, from developing an agent builder (in Python and React) to optimizing an hybrid search engine (using Apache Solr).
Prior to this, I worked for more than two years as a Data Scientist at UC Berkeley, where I developed end‑to‑end machine learning
models to tackle challenges at the intersection of science (publications) and technology (patents).
My main project is currently under review at Science Magazine.
I also supervised Engineering Master students on Machine Learning projects (such as computer vision, time series predictions, or LLM fine-tuning projects).
I graduated in 2022 with a Master degree in Optimization from
UC Berkeley.
as well as a Master degree in Artificial Intelligence from
CentraleSupelec,
which provide me with the technical expertise to develop models on large structurede and unstructured datasets.
Publications / working papers
- Scientist-inventors crosswalk (first author, submission currently at Science):
Created an SQL database of hundreds of millions of papers and patents and developed an
end-to-end Random Forest using structured and textual data to identify scientists-inventors,
in collaboration with Lee Fleming .
- Patent-paper-pairs (data available on Zenodo: https://zenodo.org/records/7996195): created a database of Patent-paper-pairs using
machine learning and LLMs, which provides pairs of papers and patents written by the same individuals
describing the same invention, in collaboration with Matt Marx .
- A dataset of Office Action citations for U.S. patents: Dataset which enables new lines of inquiry into examiner behavior, technology diffusion, and the
scientific foundations of patented inventions. The data and code are openly available.
